Upstate Medical University in Syracuse New, York opened the Upstate Cord Blood Bank on Thursday February, 9th, 2017. The $15 Million facility is only the 2nd public cord blood bank in New York State and only one of 32 public cord blood banks in the country. The 20,000 sq ft. facility will bank, collect, test, process, store and distribute umbilical cord blood donated by families throughout Central and Northern New York.
